When we want something so badly, waiting can be a very difficult thing. Instead of waiting, we usually want things NOW. And when things do not go the way we expected it to, then we get upset with God. We need to learn to trust God with His timing, instead of always wanting things according to our timing, or wondering when God’s time will come. When we trust God, we will have peace in us.First of all, we need to wait with patience. Not a lot of people like the waiting process. When we decide to wait on God, we can be at peace knowing that God will have the best outcome for us. Patience does not come to one person overnight; it takes practice. But as we let God lead our way and help us in each situation, we develop patience. As we see in Galatians 5:22, patience is a fruit of the spirit. It is developed only under trial. So we must not try to run away when we get faced with difficult situations, but learn to hold on to God and know that God will lead you out of it.
Secondly, God’s timing is important in our lives. Although it may be very frustrating not knowing the exact timing, we have to learn to trust God in all His ways. Just as how parents would never want to see their child hurt, God too would never want to see His children hurt. He is perfect in all His ways. When we accept God’s timing, we can learn to live in hope and enjoy our lives while God is at work.
In the bible, we can look at Joseph’s story. Joseph was a man who waited for many years for the fulfillment of the dream God had given Him. He was falsely accused and imprisoned before the time came for him to do what God has shown Him he had to do. But Joseph never gave up. He trusted God and waited.
We have to learn to trust God with all our heart. There may be times when God directs us in a way which may not make sense at all, but we have to learn to rely on Him. He will not take us through a path if He knows that we cannot handle it. Or He may take us through it to teach us a lesson and/or to make us a stronger person. When we try to reason out God’s plan, then we will be confused and make ourselves miserable. We can see in Proverbs 3:5-6, it states to trust in the Lord with ALL your heart. It sounds simple, but many people still make the mistake of trying to figure everything out on their own. We have to learn to leave all our problems and whatever that may be bothering us in God’s hands, and trust and know that He will take care of it all.
Waiting on God is not an easy thing to do. Especially when you’ve been praying about something to God and you are trying to patiently wait for the answer. He is our good Father, who is perfect in all of His ways. And He loves us so much. All we have to do is submit ourselves to Him and wait upon His timing for things to happen in our lives and not rush into anything.
Because You are perfect in all of Your ways,
You are perfect in all of Your ways,
You are perfect in all of Your ways to us.
