Don’t let the fire burn out!

Set a fire down in my soul
That I can’t contain, that I can’t control
I want more of You God
I want more of You
“Set a fire” lyrics by United Pursuit

Women of God, is your heart burning for Christ or are you letting it burn out?

The truth is, many of us are guilty of suppressing the fire that God has placed in our hearts. But we must come to a point where we cannot contain the fire within.

In Matthew 5:15 it says, “No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house.”
We live in a world full of complacency, and not spiritual conviction; thus, more and more believers are turning away from the desire to seek after the one true God. We hide away from the Holy Spirit and we limit His presence in our homes, and even in our churches.

When you look at the book of Acts, it is very clear that Jesus wants every one of us filled with the Holy Spirit- not just for momentary pleasure, but to walk boldly in the world and gain souls for His Kingdom (see Acts 2).

We as humans are prone to make mistakes, so it is very clear why we need the holy spirit daily. The holy spirit guides, convicts, sanctifies, and reveals to us, the things we cannot understand in flesh.
I encourage you not to quench (suppress) the Holy Spirit (1 Thessalonians 5:19); but rather continue to be filled with the Spirit. Let Him lead you to new heights because the truth is, His presence is all we need in this world.
In my own life, sometimes I was influenced by others’ lack of the Holy Spirit, to hide away from what God was stirring in my heart. But I realized that God had chosen me to share the love of Christ to the lost souls, and how could I go without his Spirit? This is our spiritual compass that we truly need!

As Jeremiah 20:9 says, holding in the fire will only wear us out. Let God’s love and fire consume you. This is the only way to live a victorious and purpose driven life!

No matter what you’re facing today, I encourage you to draw closer to God (James 4:8), and He will reveal Himself to you. Jesus didn’t just leave us alone when He ascended unto heaven, He left the Holy Spirit with us, so that you and I may have a daily comforter who will provide constant direction.
Don’t let the fire burn out, you are His chosen vessel! The more broken you are, the more God can use you for His glory, so fear not, He is with you until the very end!
