“Every blessing You pour out
I’ll turn back to praise
And when the darkness closes in, Lord,
Still I will say… Blessed be your name!”
Ladies, I want to encourage you today to praise God for all that He has done and is continuing to do in your life!
We have entered the forth month of 2016, almost nearing the half way point of the year. How much have you praised God this year?
The word of God teaches us to bless and praise God in the good and difficult times.
1 Thessalonians 5:18: “ In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”
In the bible we can see that Job was a wonderful example of someone who praised and worshipped God on his best and worst days.
His wife cursed God when things were falling apart but Job answered her with these wise words:
“Shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil?” (Job 2:10).
He did not give up on God when his world was crumbling before him, because he knew he served a God bigger than his problems.
God can make a rainbow from the rain! Although the enemy tries to harm us, God can make ALL things turn out for good (Romans 8:28; Genesis 50:20).
There is no challenge or obstacle impossible for God. So when you’re waiting in the rain, thank God that His love is protecting you. When you’re enjoying the rainbow, thank God for His favour!
Job believed that God was still in control when things were difficult.
“I know that You can do all things, and that no purpose of yours can be thwarted” (Job 42:2).
And God honoured Job because of his faithfulness and obedience.
“And the Lord restored the fortunes of Job, when he had prayed for his friends. And the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.”
So remember, no matter what comes your way, praise God because He is still in control. Nothing is too difficult for him. He can make something out of nothing! He can make beauty out of brokenness.
Will you make a decision to praise God on the good and bad days this year?
Don’t give up your faith, because you are daughters of the King! Thus, you truly are blessed beyond measure!
“You give and take away
You give and take away
My heart will choose to say, Lord
Blessed be Your name!”
(Song lyrics – “Blessed be your name”)
